A whole new batch of puppets...

Twenty two new characters have appeared since my last entry. And one new house for us to live in!
I have a sneak peak of a selection from the new batch you can see on facebook.
Here's the link:

If you can't view them there send me an email: amanda@pangolinpplayhouse.com to browse or order your next puppet. With Christmas just around the corner please think about the children (or adults) who might like a puppet for a gift and get your order in early!

And while staying with mum and dad I finished my Hot Chocolate teddy bear. Just haven't found the perfect neck ribbon for him or embroidered his mouth/muzzle.

PEARCEDALE CRAFT AND FARMERS MARKET

Haven't posted a blog for some time! Things are displaced at present. Including us. No place of our own, makes it difficult to work properly or order your normal life as you normally would. However! I did get to the Pearcedale Market in early July. Was a lovely day and I discovered some delicious market stalls. Even managed a few sales of my own.

Thank you to Jacqui K for taking some pictures of us!

I am currently making a whole lot of little black fluffy dog marionettes and creating some new monsters!
Plan is to be there again for the first Sat of the month in September. Come and visit!

Christmas is Coming!

Well, I have completed my application for the Suzuki Night Market. Its starting in November! The year is flying by as usual. I must remember to send the envelope now, not just take it around with me in the car on all my errands and then leave it at mum and dad's house as I have done currently.

Currently in the process of making 2 new puppets for custom orders. I can post photos when they are done. The colours and eyes etc have been chosen by the children themselves. In fact they have even saved up their own money to buy them! So that is special.

Here's a picture of last years Suzuki Night Market. Taken by our friend Joey B.

Hot Chocolate in Progress!

A special HELLO to everyone who is looking at this after taking a card at the MORNINGTON RACECOURSE CRAFT MARKET last sunday!

I started making teddies just a few months ago after talking to my late Pop on the phone who told me that they have been and still are the most popular toy since their invention. I was making puppets at the time but he gave me the idea and so I borrowed a few books on teddy making.

My next teddy bear project is made from the left over scraps of the lovely French-made fur called 'Hot Chocolate' that I used to re-upholster my papasan chair. It is sooooo soft. My bears have been getting better and better and I now draw up the pattern for them freehand and they turn out good. I string joint them for a classic looking bear. This one has been on the backburner for a couple of months but I must finish him soon.
Here is the process photos.
Line up all the pattern pieces in line with the direction of the fur!

This is what is left of the fur after the cutting out. Along with heaps and heaps of furry furry mess that gets up your nose.

The useful bits.

All the separate parts sewn and stuffed.

Bears head, trial ear placement.

Probably what he will look like when sewn all together.

You will just have to wait to see how the face turns out. That is always the hardest and last bit!
